What is "Coil Building"?
Behind this term lies a relatively new art form that involves creating electrical heating coils for vaporizing devices. The term “art form” refers to the creative and artistic implementation of this endeavor, as well as the depiction of these coils in detailed photographs. Due to the small size of these objects, this is achieved through ornate macro photography and techniques such as focus stacking, where often 20 or sometimes significantly more individual photos are used to obtain a sharp and high-resolution image of these coils. The results are often truly impressive images with beautiful colors and many details.
To help visualize the actual size of these objects, I created this photo. Many people are not aware of how tiny these coils actually are. This gives the viewer a sense of what it might be like to work on this scale. It takes a lot of practice to be able to create such intricate designs!
